Compu.tecture's MADCAD Now Available
Via construction.com
NEW YORK, N.Y.,
June 11, 2002 - McGraw-Hill Construction, a division
of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE:MHP) and Compu.tecture
today announced that the multitasking architectural database
MADCAD will be available via McGraw-Hill Construction's Internet
portal, construction.com.
MADCAD provides architects, builders, contractors, government
inspectors and educational institutions access to building
codes via the Internet. The MADCAD system currently includes
the new International Building Code as well as 15 codebooks
from each of the model building code providers (including
the new International Building Code 2000) and codebooks from
the National Fire Protection Association, and the federal
guidelines for ADA and Fair Housing Accessibility. Compu.tecture
has licenses to include 193 additional codebooks online.
"Instead of searching through dozens of printed reference
books and thousands of pages of text, MADCAD provides a searching
capability that makes it much easier for building industry
professionals to find the code data they need," said
Norbert Young, president of McGraw-Hill Construction. "We
are excited to include MADCAD to the construction.com arsenal
of critical construction applications. MADCAD adds greater
functionality to our portal and enhances construction.com's
value to its users."
"Developing this relationship with construction.com is
an important step for Compu.tecture. McGraw-Hill Construction
is an established leader in the construction marketplace and
construction.com will prove a valuable market channel for
the MADCAD service," said Pelin Atasoy, founder and CEO
of Compu.tecture.
Construction professionals interested in using MADCAD services
can visit McGraw-Hill Construction on the Internet at construction.com.
