Laura Viscusi of McGraw-Hill Construction Elected to AAF Board of Regents

New York – January 14, 2009 – Laura Viscusi, Vice President Integrated Media for McGraw-Hill Construction and Publisher of Architectural Record, has been elected to the American Architectural Foundation’s (AAF) Board of Regents. As the newest member of the AAF Board, Laura Viscusi will join an illustrious group of industry leaders who regularly engage local leaders with educational programs and architectural expertise to demonstrate the power of architecture to improve lives and transform communities.

“Laura Viscusi is a wonderful addition to the AAF Board of Regents,” said Sandy Diehl, Vice President, Integrated Building Systems of United Technologies Corporation, and Chair-elect of the AAF Board of Regents. “Her expertise in marketing and communications, combined with her deep knowledge of the design and construction community, will be a great asset to the work of the Foundation.”

At McGraw-Hill Construction, Laura Viscusi leads product development strategies to advance the growth of the company’s media portfolio. As the publisher of Architectural Record since 1996, she has guided the publication into the leadership position it enjoys today. Laura Viscusi is also the publisher of HQ, a collaborative effort between McGraw-Hill Construction and BusinessWeek and the company’s newest publication, which sells corporate executives on the benefits of good design. She has also spearheaded many new and unique programs for the company and industry, such as the Excellence in Advertising Awards, continuing education courses for architects, the Innovation Conference, and a special publication on “Schools of the 21st Century,” in collaboration with the AAF’s Great Schools by Design program.

“Over the past several years, AAF has developed an outstanding partnership with Architectural Record through our Great Schools by Design initiative,” said Ron Bogle, President and CEO of the AAF. “Adding Laura to our board sets the stage to build on this already successful collaboration.”
