McGraw-Hill Construction and Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Announce Strategic Alliance

Montreal, Quebec, Canada – June 17, 2009 – McGraw-Hill Construction, part of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP), and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) today announced an alliance to provide enhanced intelligence, services and educational tools to Canadian architects and design professionals. The announcement took place during the RAIC Festival of Architecture and Forum at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Together, North America’s leading construction industry information and services provider, McGraw-Hill Construction, and Canada’s premiere association for architects, RAIC, will create new opportunities to support the RAIC membership. New continuing education offerings, event appearances, product discounts, and industry trend studies will bring together the Canadian design community and give them access to tools that will help them learn, find work and do work better and more efficiently. The first collaboration will be on a Building Information Modeling (BIM) survey and SmartMarket Report, currently underway and due out in September 2009.

“McGraw-Hill Construction is excited to announce this strategic alliance with the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada,” said Norbert W. Young, Jr., president of McGraw-Hill Construction. “I am confident our tools and products for architects, from Architectural Record to Sweets to our SmartMarket Reports on green building and more, will continue to be a great resource for RAIC members and Canada’s design community as a whole.”

“RAIC is dedicated to supporting its membership with substantial tools to be able to work more effectively and stay ahead of key trends,” said Jon Hobbs, executive director, Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. “McGraw-Hill Construction’s products and services are second to none, and we are very pleased to be working with them.”
