LEED for Commercial Interiors is the green benchmark for the tenant improvement market. It is the recognized system for certifying high-performance green interiors that are healthy, productive places to work; are less costly to operate and maintain; and have a reduced environmental footprint. LEED for Commercial Interiors gives the power to make sustainable choices to tenants and designers, who do not always have control over whole building operations. As the green building sector grows exponentially, more and more building professionals, owners, and operators are seeing the benefits of green building and LEED certification. Green design reduces operating costs, enhances building and organizational marketability, and helps create a sustainable community.
This USGBC instructor-led half-day program will provide the attendee with an overview of LEED® for Commercial Interiors v2.0, which provides the performance standards used for LEED® Certification of a tenant fit-out of a building. Individual Credits within the six area of this rating system (Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality and Innovation in Design) will be discussed in this session. Appropriate case studies will also be reviewed.
