Rohit T. Aggarwala is Director of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Long-term Planning and Sustainability, charged with the creation and implementation of PlaNYC, a comprehensive sustainability plan for New York City. A native of Manhattan, NY, Dr. Aggarwala holds BA, MBA, and PhD degrees from Columbia University, as well as a Master’s from Queens University in Ontario. Prior to joining the Bloomberg administration, he was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Richard T. Anderson

New York Building Congress
Richard T. Anderson is President of the New York Building Congress and a nationally recognized association executive and urban planner. An advocate of strategic infrastructure investment and economic development, he has dedicated his career to promoting the long-term growth of America’s foremost urban centers, primarily New York City.
Over the past decade, Mr. Anderson has ushered in a period of unprecedented influence and growth for the New York Building Congress, a public policy organization in its 88th year of representing the design, construction and real estate community. The Building Congress is regarded as the place where leaders in all sectors of the industry -- architects, engineers, labor, contractors, real estate managers and other professionals -- can meet to forge alliances and act cooperatively to promote economic growth and strategic capital investment.
In his role as an expert in public policy and construction, Mr. Anderson’s views on a range of issues are sought by public officials, agency leaders, business executives, the news media, good government groups and other organizations inside and outside of the building community.
Prior to the Building Congress, Mr. Anderson served as Executive Director of The Dallas Plan, a non-profit group formed to prepare a long-range capital improvements strategy for that city, and as President of the Regional Plan Association, the nation’s oldest metropolitan planning organization serving the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut metropolitan region.
Mr. Anderson was the first elected President of the 40,000 member American Planning Association, a national group based in Washington, D.C., and served as Chairman of its College of Fellows. He is a founding member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and is a Director of the ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York and the Salvadori Center and a Trustee of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of New York City.
In recognition of his efforts to make New York City a better place to live and work, Mr. Anderson was awarded the 2001 George S. Lewis Award from the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, where he served as Public Director, and received a 1995 Ellis Island Medal of Honor. The Building Congress Board of Directors presented him with a Distinguished Service Award in 2004 and he was elected to the National Academy of Construction in 2006.
A graduate of Rutgers University, Mr. Anderson earned a Master of Regional Planning degree from Cornell University and completed post-graduate doctoral studies in public administration at New York University.
Harvey Bernstein, F.ASCE, LEED AP

As Vice President of Industry Analytics, Alliances and Strategic Initiatives, Mr. Bernstein manages McGraw-Hill Construction’s (MHC’s) Washington, DC office which is responsible for industry and government alliances and also manages the company’s Research and Analytics division in Bedford, Massachusetts which conducts market research and develops and maintains the company’s construction industry statistics, building stock information, and related databases. He has lead responsibility for MHC’s green building initiatives, including the first ever landmark studies on green residential and commercial construction trends, and was one of the team members involved in launching MHC’s new GreenSource magazine. Mr. Bernstein works with industry executives to identify industry needs and improve performance through market research, thought leadership, and the development of strategic initiatives, special studies and services. He oversees a staff of over 40 professionals including engineers, analysts, economists, market researchers, project managers, survey specialists, and industry sector experts. Mr. Bernstein previously served as the President and CEO of the Civil Engineering Research Foundation. He has written numerous papers covering innovation, residential and commercial construction, energy efficiency, energy conservation and sustainability in the built environment, and he co-authored the book Solving the Innovation Puzzle: Challenges Facing the Design and Construction Industry. Mr. Bernstein is a member of the Charles Pankow Foundation’s Advisory Council, Princeton University Civil & Environmental Engineering Advisory Council, the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Policy Advisory Board and a visiting Professor with the University of Reading’s School of Construction Management and Engineering in London, England, where he also serves on their Innovative Construction Research Center Advisory Board. Mr. Bernstein has an M.B.A in Corporate Marketing from Loyola College, an M.S. in Engineering from Princeton University and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Tim Carey is the Director for Sustainability and Technology at PepsiCo Americas Beverages based in Chicago and is responsible for ensuring PepsiCo Chicago’s sustainability vision and strategy lead to significant reductions in the company’s environmental impact. Tim’s teams are responsible for reducing resource consumption, constructing manufacturing facilities that meet high environmental standards, and incorporating environmental performance in all aspects of the company’s operations. PepsiCo Chicago has been responsible for construction of the two largest LEED Gold certified food and beverage plants in the world. Tim has developed and implemented successful sustainability programs for more than 20 years at companies such as Hewlett Packard and Warren Buffet owned Johns Manville before coming to PepsiCo.
Alice Cook

Alice Cook is the Director of Sustainability for Time Equities, Inc., a private equity real estate company with a diverse portfolio owning and managing over 20 million square feet of property. She is responsible for Time Equities' corporate climate strategy and the implementation of initiatives to reduce Time Equities' carbon footprint. Some of the major initiatives include portfolio-wide energy/carbon audits and efficiency projects, the development of energy management tools, and the establishment of best practices to ensure high performance operations. She develops practical and appropriate strategies based on cost-benefit analysis and market opportunity. She also manages the LEED certification process for new developments and coordinates energy-efficiency related incentives. Alice's professional experience includes a broad range of projects in the environmental field including water resources and infrastructure planning and climate change research.
Alice holds master's degree from Stanford University in Civil & Environmental Engineering, and a B.S. from the Stanford School of Earth Sciences. She focused her studies on solutions to macro level environmental problems including global warming and water resources. She conducted climate change research in Antarctica and at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. She is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
Michael Deane

Michael Deane is Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at Turner Construction Company and a LEED Accredited Professional. His responsibilities at Turner include developing and implementing sustainable policy and training, green project setup, operational oversight and sales.
Michael has an MS in Historic Preservation from Columbia University and 20 years of construction management experience including K-12 schools, libraries, various cultural institutions and hospitality.
Michael is a founding board member and past chair of the US Green Building Council New York Chapter. He served on the USGBC National Board of Directors from 2005 through 2008. He continues to serve as an advisor to the New York Chapter.
Michael writes and speaks frequently about sustainability and in particular the builder’s role in delivering green buildings. He currently teaches a course on sustainability at Columbia University.

Doug Gatlin

As the Vice President for Market Development at the U.S. Green Building
Council, Doug Gatlin has oversight for deploying the family of LEED rating
systems in all the major commercial market segments and for managing
overall customer relations for LEED and the Council’s new pilot initiative,
the Portfolio Program.
Doug has 15 years experience in energy and environmental policy and has worked on climate change response strategies and voluntary pollution prevention programs for most of his career. He has authored publications on climate change mitigation strategies, energy efficiency program design, and energy efficiency project financing.
Prior to joining USGBC, Doug served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the USEPA, where he worked for nearly 10 years. From 1997-2004, he served as Team Leader for the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Commercial Buildings program, where he launched a public sector program for governments, K-12 schools and universities, an energy efficiency financing initiative, and also a new partnership program with service providers, utilities and regional energy efficiency programs.
From 1992-1996, Doug served as a project manager at the Washington, DC based Climate Institute, where he managed the Energy Smart Cities campaign, and also helped the U.S. Department of Energy launch the Rebuild America program. Doug holds a bachelors in political science from Duke University and a masters in public policy from Georgetown University. He lives with his wife and two children in Silver Spring, MD.
Bracken Hendricks

Bracken Hendricks is a Senior Fellow with American Progress where he works on issues of climate change and energy independence, environmental protection, infrastructure investment, and economic policy, with a focus on broadening progressive constituencies and message framing. Hendricks served in the Clinton Administration as a Special Assistant to the Office of Vice President Al Gore and with the Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, where he worked on the Interagency Climate Change Working Group, the President’s Council on Sustainable Development, and the White House Livable Communities Task Force on issues of public safety, electronic government, oceans policy, trade and the environment, and smart growth. Hendricks was the founding Executive Director and is currently a National Steering Committee member of the Apollo Alliance for good jobs and energy independence, a coalition of labor, environmental, business and community leaders dedicated to changing the politics of energy independence. Hendricks served as a Consultant to the Office of the President of the AFL-CIO and as an Economic Analyst with the AFL-CIO Working for America Institute. He has been a member of Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell’s Energy Advisory Task Force, the Cornell University Eco-Industrial Round Table, and the Energy Future Coalition. He is also a philanthropic advisor to the Wallace Global Fund on matters of Civic Engagement and Democratic Participation. Hendricks serves on the board of Green HOME, a Washington DC based non-profit promoting green building in affordable housing and has worked on political campaigns in the private sector. Hendricks is widely published on economic development, climate and energy policy, national security, and progressive political strategy. Bracken received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with a Minor in Sociology from Mary Baldwin College, and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Urban Planning from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Kevin Kampschroer

Kevin Kampschroer is the Acting Director of the Office of Federal High Performance Green Buildings at the U.S. General Services Administration. His office is tasked with promoting green building technology in Federal buildings. Previously, Mr. Kampschroer also contributed to the creation of the WorkPlace 20.20 program which emphasizes organizational performance. He was the Project Manager for the Ronald Reagen Federal Building and Trade Center, when it was then the 2nd largest office building in the United States. He was also the Research Chair for the Advanced Building Systems Integration Center for the Built Environment at the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. Kampschroer has lectured at Harvard, MIT, Johns Hopkins, Stanford and Georgia Institute of Technology and has over 35 years of government service. He is a graduate of Yale University.

She has served on juries and panels for various AIA’s national and local chapters, ASLA, and SMPS. She worked as a marketing director for various architecture firms for 12 years before joining Architectural Record in 2000.
Robert D. LiMandri

Robert D. LiMandri was appointed Commissioner of the New York City Buildings Department in September 2008 by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, and has over 19 years of building, real estate and construction management experience. Prior to his appointment, Commissioner LiMandri served the Buildings Department as Acting Commissioner from April 2008 – September 2008, as First Deputy Commissioner from 2005 to April 2008, and as Deputy Commissioner of Operations from 2002 to 2005. Building upon the progress of the past few years, Commissioner LiMandri is focused on raising construction safety standards, improving industry accountability, and transforming the Buildings Department into a modern enforcement agency better positioned to hold parties responsible when they do not make safety their first priority.
Under Commissioner LiMandri’s leadership, the Department has launched an unprecedented, $4 million High Risk Construction Oversight plan to analyze and improve regulations regarding concrete, crane and excavation operations. To further raise industry standards, Commissioner LiMandri has put contractors on notice that they must staff their construction sites with workers and supervisors who make worker and public safety the number one priority – and he is working to make sure Department Inspectors and enforcement staff hold responsible parties to this nonnegotiable standard. To this end, Commissioner LiMandri has expanded and launched new enforcement teams, strengthened New York City’s crane regulations, and is working to utilize state-of-the-art technology to improve the overall quality of agency operations and accountability.
Prior to the Buildings Department, Commissioner LiMandri worked in the private and non-profit sectors, gaining invaluable experience making large organizations more effective and productive by reorganizing, rebuilding and modernizing their systems. From 2000 to 2002, he was a Director at RealFoundations, a real estate and construction consulting firm. Prior to that, he was a Vice President at OpsXchange, an e-procurement solution firm. From 1997 to 2000, Commissioner LiMandri was a Vice President at Jones Lang LaSalle, where he was a manager and consultant to leading institutional investors and was responsible for Class A office buildings. Prior to Jones Lang LaSalle, Commissioner LiMandri managed the Science and Engineering buildings at Columbia University (1990 to 1997).
Commissioner LiMandri received his Master’s degree in Real Estate from New York University (1998) and his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York (1987). He currently resides in Queens Village with his wife and two children.
Nicholas Long

Nicholas has over 7 years of modeling experience with EnergyPlus and is the lead developer of the NREL Analysis Platform software called Opt-E-Plus. Opt-E-Plus performs multivariate, multiobjective optimizations using EnergyPlus to help provide feedback during the early design phase of building projects. Opt-E-Plus is also used to perform sector wide analyses with EnergyPlus to help determine the energy impacts of proposed codes and standards (such as ASHRAE’s Advanced Energy Design Guides and ASHRAE Standard 189.1). Nicholas has also developed an online weather database, an online EnergyPlus Example File Generator, and a CBECS analysis tools.
Nicholas has contributed to several building projects including early design phase support, detailed modeling, end-use analyses, commissioning, site weather data analyses, and installation of metering systems. Nicholas holds a degree in Engineering with Electrical Specialty from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO.

Mychele is a 23-year veteran of the commercial real estate investment community and a pioneer in EPA’s ENERGY STAR© and the USGBC’s LEED for Existing Buildings Rating System™.
As the founder of LORD Green Real Estate Strategies, Inc., Mychele brings a practical approach to greening existing real estate through LEED consulting and development of green practices and strategies for office and non-office property types.
Mychele is also lead author of USGBC’s new Green Office Guide: Integrating LEED into Your Leasing Process, a handbook to guide tenants through the process of greening their office space, and ASHRAE’s Energy Efficiency Guide for Existing Commercial Buildings.
In 2007, Mychele left her role at Transwestern as Executive Managing Director, Client Services, and member of the company’s Board of Directors, where she directed strategic account management for key clients and led the firm in its industry-leading energy and sustainability initiatives, including numerous ENERGY STAR awards and its participation in the USGBC’s LEED for Existing Buildings Portfolio Program.

Jay joined The McGraw-Hill Companies in 1979 in BusinessWeek’s advertising sales department. He worked in the magazine’s Dallas, Denver, and Los Angeles sales offices before moving to the publication’s New York headquarters in 1984.
In 1991 Jay was appointed vice president, director of strategic programs for BusinessWeek, with responsibility for the magazine’s special advertising sections, executive conferences, custom publishing, newsletters, editorial licensing, and international edition advertising sales.

Mr. Nall, as Director of Sustainability for WSP Flack + Kurtz, a 600 person consulting engineering firm, is responsible for the integration of sustainable technologies, methods and solutions for all WSPFK offices and for liaison with the world-wide offices of the parent company, the WSP Group.
He is a Fellow of the AIA, an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, a member of the Urban Land Institute, NY Chapter Council on Sustainability the ASHRAE Advanced Building Energy Labeling (ABEL) Committee and the BOMA, NY Chapter Sustainability Committee. He was a member of the “Forum on Standards for Green Leasing”, sponsored by the Natural Resources Defense Council. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the USGBC NY Chapter, the AIA National Committee on the Environment; the Project Committees for four of ASHRAE’s Advanced Energy Design Guides and was vice-chairman of the USGBC Energy & Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group. Mr. Nall has been involved with energy efficiency in buildings for over 30 years. Projects for which he has had made substantive contribution include, the TRW World Headquarters, the Alcoa World Headquarters, the New York Times Headquarters, the Hearst Corporation Headquarters, the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Center, and the SAP USA Headquarters Expansion. He is the author of over 30 papers in technical and professional journals, and has spoken to numerous conferences and forums on issues of green building and energy efficiency. A graduate of Princeton University and Cornell University, he is a Registered Architect, a Professional Engineer, and a LEED Accredited Professional.
Steven Pressler

Mr. Pressler is the Executive Vice President, Area General Manager of Skanska USA Buildings’ New York office.
Mr. Pressler has more than 32 years of experience in the industry. He has worked with some of the largest publicly and privately-held facilities in the country. During the past four years that Mr. Pressler has managed the New York office, he has been responsible for securing projects such as a billion dollar Capital Master Plan in New York City and Brooklyn Bridge Park. Steve also played a critical role overseeing Skanska’s new LEED® - CI Platinum office space in the Empire State Building.
Mr. Pressler is also responsible for leading the national Aviation Center of Excellence at Skanska USA Building Inc. He has completed projects at Boston Logan International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, JFK International Airport and George Bush International Airport for clients such as Continental Airlines, British Airways, American Airlines, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Lufthansa and Air France.

Mr. Quartararo is the Northeast Regional Manager and International Director for Jones Lang LaSalle’s Project and Development Services Group. He manages a team of over 200 project management professionals, executing over 10 million sq. ft. of project management assignments and billions of dollars in construction spend. He becomes personally involved in many of the region’s assignments, attending strategic meetings, lending his expertise and is ultimately responsible for the success of all of the assignments in the Northeast.
As Regional Manager of the Northeast, Mr. Quartararo has been directly involved with projects such as the new Bank of America Building, multiple projects for Deloitte, Verizon, Citigroup, MetLife, the Interpublic Group of Companies, WPP and Madison Square Garden. Other projects include: Time Warner’s headquarters, Ernst & Young’s headquarters at 5 Times Square, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, multiple projects for Lehman Brothers, renovations and an addition to The Chapin School and advisory services to the Port Authority of NY & NJ.
Mr. Quartararo is also involved in many of our client’s lease negotiations providing expert advice and expertise. Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Mr. Quartararo was the founder and president of Quartararo & Associates, Inc. He has experience in construction management, project management, engineering, and international portfolio management.
Mr. Quartararo is a graduate of New York University School of Business, where he received an MBA in Management and International Business, and Tufts University, where he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in English. Mr. Quartararo takes an active role in a number of industry organizations including Corenet and the New York Building Congress and has been a guest lecturer on many industry specific panels. Mr. Quartararo is involved in numerous charities including the March of Dimes, Special Olympics and the United Way.

Salvatore Renda is an Architect and Regional Project Manager with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York. The Dormitory Authority provides financing and construction services to public and private universities, not-for-profit healthcare facilities, courts, libraries and other institutions that serve the public good. Some of the Authority's largest clients include State University of New York, City University of New York, NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation and the NYC Courts, NYS Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene Facilities.
Mr. Renda is a member of the American Institute of Architects and has served as President and on the Board of Directors for the Eastern NY Chapter of AIA, the International Facility Management Association and the Building Commissioning Association. He currently holds certifications from the National Council of Architectural Registration Board, the American Concrete Institute and is a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional.
Mr.Renda and his staff manage and oversee projects including all phases of design, construction and rehabilitation, including contract administration. He currently has six projects registered with the USGBC as LEED Silver projects and one LEED EB project. The Dormitory Authority overall has twenty-nine registered projects with the USGBC and three projects which have received USGBC LEED Certification.
Since 2001, Mr. Renda has been involved with DASNY and other State agencies as part of the NY State Green Building Advisory Council working group for Executive Order 111, which was tasked with the development of the EO 111 Green & Clean State Building and Vehicles Guidelines as well as assisting the University at Buffalo with the development of the UB High Performance Building Guidelines.
Mr. Renda holds a Masters of Architecture from the University of Buffalo, School of Architecture and Planning, a Bachelors of Science in Architecture from the New York Institute of Technology, Center for Architecture, and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Civil Engineering from Hudson Valley Community College, School of Architectural, Civil and Construction Technology.

Kelly Romano is President, Building Systems and Services (BSS), Carrier Corporation, a multi-billion dollar business providing world-class sustainable products, services and building management systems to the global commercial building industry.
Prior to her current position, Kelly served as President Distribution – Americas, leading Carrier’s sales, distribution and aftermarket operations in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Replacement Component Division.
Kelly has also held various positions in North America during her 25 year career at Carrier, including Vice President and General Manager of Carrier Sales and Distribution, Vice President of Independent Distribution, and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for the Commercial Systems and Services division.
Kelly often speaks on commercial building, industry and energy issues. She is a Board Member of the New York US Green Building Council. Recent addresses have included keynotes at Intelligent Green and Energy Efficient Building Conference in Beijing, China; The Energy Efficient Building Conference in New Delhi, India; the “20-Now Action Forum: The Business Case for Greening Your Building” Energy Efficiency Partnership of Greater Washington; and the Moscow 2008 Green Building Conference.

Tishman Speyer
Tom Scarola is the Director of Engineering for Tishman Speyer. As part of the design and construction group, he is responsible for engineering in the domestic sector and as well participates in international developments. Tishman Speyer’s interests abroad provide him experience with architects and engineers in many world markets. He is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of TS Standards for all projects. This involves working with each project team in maintaining a consistent approach to design and monitoring the progress of each project for budgeting, bid and award, construction quality, commissioning and sustainability.
Tom has spent over 35 years in the construction business. He is an engineering graduate of the University of Notre Dame, an experienced Construction Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, a member of ASHRAE and a registered LEED Accredited Professional. He previously served as a Board Member of the USGBC, as Vice Chairman of the LEED New Construction Committee, on The LEED Steering Committee, on sub-committees on energy and commissioning, correspondence committees for Neighborhood Development and the Energy Tag, nominated as a member of the LEED Technical Committee, worked with the Clinton Foundation in helping to develop their Existing Building Retrofit Program, with the EPA in the analysis of their Energy Star Portfolio, with NYSERDA under a grant for the first multi-tenant hi-rise office building in NYC to achieve EBOM certification, 520 Madison Ave., served on the Advisory Committee on Sustainability for the New York City Building Department, the REBNY Sustainable Urban Development Committee, a Member of the Real Estate Roundtable’s Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee, the Urban Land Institute NY Sustainable Building Council, served on Governor Paterson's Renewable Energy Task Force, part of the Department of Energy’s Commercial Real Estate Energy Alliance Executive Roundtable and the USGBC NY Green Codes Task Force Advisory Committee.
He has managed the LEED certification of 9 buildings with 25 more presently registered and participated in the Energy Star rating of over 100 Tishman Speyer buildings. While acting as the Director of Sustainability, Tishman Speyer became a founding sponsor of the New York Chapter, the Brazil Green Building Council and the India Green Building Council. He has presented at ASHRAE national events, the India SHRAE, Green Building Council Meetings in India and Brazil and has served as a professor teaching sustainability at NYU and at the seventh grade at the Columbia Secondary School for Math Science and Engineering.

Shannon D. Sentman is an attorney and strategic consultant in the Washington, D.C. office of Sol Vista Consulting, LLC. Sol Vista is a commercial real estate consulting firm that counsels clients on matters related to sustainability.
Mr. Sentman’s practice focuses on advising investors, owners, and developers on the issues and opportunities arising from the shift to developing and operating high-performance commercial buildings, and on assisting them with implementing a plan to enhance their portfolio’s value through high-return retrofits (and coordinating with tenants and others to facilitate such retrofits) and various risk management strategies.
Mr. Sentman’s experience includes his work as an attorney, Federal lobbyist, and strategic consultant with the national law firm Holland & Knight LLP. During his years with Holland & Knight, Mr. Sentman built a successful national practice counseling clients in numerous fields on sustainability-related matters, including commercial real estate, public policy, CleanTech, and renewable energy.
Mr. Sentman was the 7th attorney in the nation to earn the LEED Accredited Professional designation, and is on the Executive Board of the USGBC National Capital Region chapter. He regularly writes, speaks, and teaches on sustainability-related topics, and is frequently interviewed on related legal issues. He is currently awaiting the release of several publications on which he played key roles, including the American Bar Association’s forthcoming book Green Building & Sustainable Development: The Practical Legal Guide and USGBC’s Green Office Guide: Integrating LEED into Your Leasing Process.

Peter Skirbst is a Vice President with the Haskell Company who brings over 27 years of diversified design and construction experience to his position. He is a LEED Accredited Professional who has led the effort on LEED Certified projects for the past nine years, including projects certified through the LEED-NC (New Construction), LEED-CI (Commercial Interiors) and LEED-EB (Existing Building) programs, accounting for more than 8 million square feet of certified buildings at the Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels.
During the past five years he, with the Haskell Company, has worked closely with Pepsi Americas Beverages on their new building programs and in support of their sustainability initiatives. This relationship has led to five LEED certified projects to date including the world’s two largest LEED Gold Certified Beverage Facilities, the world’s largest LEED Gold Certified Distribution Center as well as PepsiCo’s first LEED certified headquarters building and their first Platinum certification, the Sustainability Center in Chicago.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree, is a member of the American Institute of Architects, is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is a Registered Professional Architect in twenty seven states.
Scott P. Vollmoeller, P.E., LEED® AP

Mr. Vollmoeller manages the Seattle office of Glumac, a consulting engineering firm. His responsibilities include supervision of technical direction and engineering resources within the office. Glumac’s Seattle office originally opened in 1998 and Scott has managed the 13-person office since 2004. Glumac has eight offices predominantly along the West Coast and currently employs approximately 180 engineers, designers and commissioning agents. Prior to his involvement with the Seattle office, Scott was an associate mechanical engineer in Glumac’s Portland office.
As a LEED Accredited Professional and mechanical engineer, Scott provided technical oversight and engineering for numerous sustainable facilities including CNF AdTech Corporate Headquarters and Brewery Blocks in Portland, Oregon, GSA/SSA Call Center in Auburn, Washington, Hyla Office in Issaquah, Washington and T-Mobile Creation Center in Seattle, Washington.
Scott has a Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University. He is a Professional Engineer registered in multiple states and has over 15 years of design engineering experience. He specializes in the HVAC design for hospitality, commercial and mixed-use projects throughout the West Coast and is currently providing mechanical consultation on a 1M square meter mixed-use project in Abu Dhabi.
As the Hospitality Market Segment Leader for Glumac, Mr. Vollmoeller recently participated in two “green” speaking engagements: the 2008 Greening Hotel Conference and 2009 Green Hotel: Profit Margins in San Francisco, California. In addition to presenting on sustainable hospitality projects, Scott maintains his engineering “edge” with his involvement as a member on the ASHRAE Board of Governor’s for the Puget Sound Chapter.
Congressman Peter Welch (D-VT)
Peter Welch was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1947 into a family of six children. He attended Holy Name Grammar School and Cathedral High School. After graduating from Holy Cross College in 1969, he was selected to be in the first class of Robert F. Kennedy Fellows. This honor allowed him to continue the civil rights work he began in college, helping families in Chicago overcome discriminatory housing policies. Welch graduated from the University of California Berkeley, Boalt Hall in 1973.
Settling in Vermont, Welch worked as a public defender and subsequently founded the law firm of Welch, Graham & Manby.
In 1980, Welch became only the second Democrat ever elected to represent Windsor County in the Vermont State Senate. In 1985 he was elected by his colleagues to serve as President Pro Tem of the Vermont Senate, becoming the first Democrat in Vermont history to hold this leadership position. Welch returned to the Senate in 2002 and his colleagues again elected him President Pro Tem in 2003, a position he held until 2006.
Welch, who lives in Hartland, Vermont, was elected to his first term as Vermont's lone U.S. Representative in 2006 and was reelected in 2008. Welch serves on the Committee on Energy and Commerce, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct. Welch's first wife, Joan Smith, a dean at the University of Vermont, died in 2004. In January of 2009, Welch married Margaret Cheney, a magazine editor, Spanish instructor, and member of the Vermont House of Representatives. Between them, Welch and Cheney have eight children and stepchildren.

Sally Wilson has more than 20 years of experience in the design of commercial interiors and base building renovations. Previously a partner in a top Washington, DC architecture and interior design firm, her diverse background provides a unique dimension to the platform of services provided by CB Richard Ellis.
Ms. Wilson's extensive portfolio includes work with corporations, technology companies, associations, professional service firms and government agencies. Her areas of expertise have included sustainability, programming, strategic planning, building due diligence, budgeting, scheduling, team development and lease negotiation.
Ms. Wilson is also CBRE's representative to the U.S. Green Building Council and was the first licensed broker designated as LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional). She served three years on the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED Core and Shell steering committee. The committee was responsible for developing the rating system utilized by designers, builders, new developers and building owners who address sustainable design for base building elements such as the sites, structure, envelop and building systems. Ms. Wilson's experience on the committee has allowed her to have a detailed understanding of the rating system as well as a balanced perspective from the tenant and landlord's view. She has used this experience in recent transactions for Toyota’s Washington, DC government affairs office, Thompson & Knight, LLP in Dallas, Ballard Spahr, LLP in Las Vegas, CBRE’s Washington, DC office, and the U.S. Green Building Council’s headquarters in Washington, DC. She is currently advising Perkins Coie, LLP in its Seattle headquarters.
Ms. Wilson has participated in the Carnegie Mellon Consortiums BID program, a research program that analyzes the benefits of green building systems and their effects on return on investment cost, productivity, absenteeism and turnover. In addition to Brokerage, Ms. Wilson expanded the scope of her company responsibilities even further in 2007, taking on the newly-created role of CBRE's Global Director of Environmental Strategy. In this position, Ms. Wilson manages the strategy, implementation and communications related to CBRE's global environmental initiatives. She also serves as the company's primary spokesperson, is the liaison with CBRE's environmental partners, and leads the development of the firm's Environmental Sustainability practice group.
Ms. Wilson's recent “green” speaking engagements include the 2008 Fortune Brainstorm Green Conference, and the Urban Land Institute's 2008 Green Building Summit. She has also contributed to publications in Interior Design Magazine, Small Business Magazine and Sustainable Building Interiors by Penny Bonda and Katie Sosnowchik.
