The ability to add Microsoft Outlook tasks will be made available when data on a company or project is displayed. The following pages provide accessibility to adding a MS Outlook task:
- Company Search Results
- Company Details – Profile Page
- Company Details – Contacts Page
- Company Details – Projects Page
- Company Details – Map Page
- Project Search Results
- Project Details – Reports Page
- Project Details – Firms Page
- Project Details – CSI Page
- Project Details – Map Page
To add task information to your MS Outlook client use the Add Task Icon.
Functionality
The Network allows tasks to be added to your MS Outlook. The Task information screen includes the following information: Subject, Start Date, Due Date, Priority, Categories, Notes, and Alert.
To add a task, perform the following steps:
-
Click on the Add Task icon from one of the pages described above.
- When on the Add Outlook Task page enter the following information as required:
- Enter Subject line information.
- Enter the Start Date.
- Enter the Due Date.
- Choose the Priority for the Task.
- Select the Category information from the list of categories.
- Enter Notes information.
- Select if you want a Reminder and the associated amount of time beforehand.
- Select Alert when information associated with this project has changed.
-
Next, click the button.
Note, this returns you to your McGraw-Hill Construction Network session and the Appointment has been saved to the MHC Network, Outlook Sync Folder
, pending your next synchronization (See Help Topic: Outlook Pending Synchronization).
-
Next, initiate the Synchronizer from your MS Outlook client.
NOTE: In order to bring the data from the network into MS Outlook you must use a McGraw-Hill supplied MS Outlook add-in called the Synchronizer. The Synchronizer installs as an add-in with your copy of MS Outlook 2003 and is used to import your Appointments, Contacts and Tasks. (See the Outlook Integration section
on the Tools Sidebar found on the Main Menu page, to install the Synchronizer.)
